Happy second semester! After disgustingly cold temperatures earlier this week (think -14 on Monday), we've had a few warmer, sunny days. The sun always puts me in a better mood, even if I'm locked inside most of the day.
I'm doing this fun new volunteer project! Google "Pygmy Rabbit" in association with WSU and you will find cute things. Twice a week I'm supposed to go out, at 7am, and feed them. Tiny bunnies! Sad bit of it is they've had a tough winter and some virus is killing a lot of them. Second sad bit is they may run out of funding after this semester and all the rabbits here would have to be released, able to survive or not. But for now they're cute and need feeding, so I'll do that.
I'm working on getting back to San Diego this summer. The HR director is seeing if he can get funding for a horticulture intern, which would be pretty amazing. If that doesn't happen I'll probably go back to the VAO department and just try to get some plant time in on the side.
